Wedding in less than a week!

From Little Girl to Bride



Emily looks so cute in her grown up vintage clothes in the above photo.


This sweet little girl is all grown up and getting married next Saturday!
The Mother of the Bride has sent me a couple of Emily's (and the rest of the kids) favorite recipes. Enjoy!

Applesauce Brownies
1/2 cup oil
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 Tblsp. cocoa
2 cups applesauce (I use unsweetened)
2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp.soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 beaten eggs
1 tsp/ vanilla
Beat all ingredients together for 1 minute. Pour into a greased and floured
9X13 pan. Put on topping--- which is:
1/2 cup chopped nuts
2 Tblsp. sugar
6 oz. (1 cup) chocolate chips
Bake in a 350* oven for 35 minutes


Baked Lentils with Cheese
Preheat oven at 375*
Combine in a 9X13 baking dish:
1 3/4 c. lentils, rinsed
2 c. water
1 whole bay leaf
2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/8 tsp each marjoram, sage, thyme
2 large onions, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 canned tomatoes
Cover tightly and bake 30 minutes.
Uncover and stir in:
2 large carrots, sliced 1/8th " thick
1/2 c. thinly sliced celery
bake covered 40 minutes until vegetabels are tender. Stir in:
1 green pepper, chopped (optional...I usually don't)
2 T. finely chopped parsley
Sprinkle on top:
3 c. shredded cheddar cheese
Bake uncovered 5 minutes until cheese melts.
