Family in the Park & Slaw Dressing Recipe

This photo seemed appropriate for the summer coming to an end. The family has gathered in a park.

As you plan you Labor Day picnics, you might want to inlcude some Cole Slaw and try this Slaw dressing recipe. Janice was the school cook for years and Dagmar must have liked her slaw dressing recipe, as it was in her box. Dagmar served on the school board and was secretary for of the school board for 30 years.

Sand Cake & Soap Box Car

As summer comes to a close, the Sand Cake recipe caught my eye. I haven't tried it, but sounds good. (Hope you can read it as the writing was a bit light).

The photo below is Ken and sister Alice in a soap box car. An old fashioned summertime fun activity for kids!

Absolutely the best Pie Crust Recipe!

This pie crust recipe is FABULOUS! It comes from Cathy K's Grandma Harmon. Just add some fresh Palisade, Colorado peaches and you're in heaven! (Call if you want us to bring some back!)
Doris suggestted using a silicone sheet to roll the pastry out on. If you don't have one, I had no problem with wax paper (you can always dampen the bottom a tiny bit to make it stay in place).

The photo below is Doris pushing her doll in the buggy.
