Lots of activity on the farm this week!

Lots happening this week. A large tree had a large part of the tree died and fell close to the fuel tanks and pick up last week, so brought in some tree trimmers with a basket that raised clear up in the air. Also had some local tree trimmers come and trim trees off of the big shed and pole shed. They are still working on those. The photo below is the fellows up in the basket trimming the part of the big tree out

My uncle and aunt from Houston were here this week. HC came for the day Tuesday and the kids joined us for dinner in the evening. HC got to ride on the "little" tractor with grandpa, but seemed to act like it was pretty small after riding in the 2 + 2 last time he was here. He constantly gets my sandals when we are in the house, and tries to get me to put them on, so we can go outside.

It was pretty warm so we took the opportunity to play in the water a bit while watering the flowers!

Farm Fun with HC!

HC is at the farm again and so busy with everything to do and see! He helped grandpa wash the porch by hanging onto the garden hose. Auntie (or wonderful mama cat) was trying to get a little attention too!

Grandpa and HC checked the cows and calves in the pasture by the house (check out the adorable photo of HC on the recipe blog!).
HC loves the bright colored flowers in grandma's garden, too.

HC Comes to play

HC came for the day yesterday. He walks quite a bit and seems to run (it's hard to catch a photo when he's coming at you!).

He loves his tractors and especially likes the red one like Grandpa's!

HC loves to be outside, so we spend alot of time on the screened porch in the back or on the front porch where he can see the trucks going by on the highway.

Soybeans done Friday! OOPS! Forgot some corn!

After finishing soybeans Friday night about 9 p.m., Farmer Ken was pleased! When I went out to the shed saturday morning, he was busy working on the planter. He had to plant another small field of Sweet Corn, BUT the bigger issue was that he noticed a piece in one of the corn fields that morning, that he had missed. He ended up going out to plant another 0.85 acre in a bar spot that showed up after the corn was up in that field. SO, now I think he is done planting!

OK, so for all you intersted, the sweet corn should be ready around August 1st or later in July. (Jesper, is your mouth watering yet?)
